I realize we're discussing opinions here, but dismissing Dark/Demon's Souls as having bad gameplay.I'm at a loss for words. I'm sorry, but this pretty much sums up why I can't take this list seriously. But in the end, I must quibble forcefully. Many of the games that do show up on the list are good picks. Sure, the game isn't for everyone - but what game is? Not everyone is actually all that enthralled by linear cinematic games like Uncharted 3 or heavily story-driven games like Mass Effect. Including all three Uncharted games, two Mass Effect games, two Arkham games.well the list starts to feel a little repetitive (especially with Uncharted 2 and 3 taking the number 2 and number 1 slots respectively.)
You can't do this even if you disagree with me about it being the greatest PS3 title of all time, because no matter how you look at it, it's an important game and deserves a spot in any PS3 must-haves list. You can't have a list with two Mass Effect titles on it as well as other cross-platform titles like Red Dead Redemption, and leave out From Software's revolutionary third-person action-RPG. I'm also pretty certain we could scrape together a handful of cross-platform picks that might add some variety to the list ( Mass Effect 2 and 3, really?)īut instead of that, I'm just going to point out that the greatest PS3 game of all time is Demon's Souls.
I was going to make a list of PS3 exclusives that probably should have been included (games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Metal Gear Solid 4, for all their flaws, seem like good picks, and while IGN includes LittleBigPlanet 2, I think LittleBigPlanet 1 deserves a spot as well.) A list riposte, as it were.
